Head of Sales for Africa - Travel Location: Bellville, Cape Town Salary: R40k – R45k per month plus benefits About the Role: Opportunity for a senior Sales Manager to join our company (listed on the JSE) at a senior management level for the launch of our new luxury inbound tour operator. We are looking to recruit a Head of Sales for Africa, to build, nurture and manage a global team of travel designers and travel support teams. Requirements: Minimum of 3 years' sales management experience within a travel business Minimum of 3 years' experience of managing a team of people in a commercial performance role The candidate must be educated to degree level or a Diploma in Travel and Tourism Prior experience in FIT sales is required Competent TI skills Resilience to cope with long hours and pressure at peak times A genuine interest in travel. Knowledge of popular and upcoming destinations across Southern, East and Central Africa Local and international experience in travel sales management Excellent continent wide geographical and first-hand product and sales knowledge The applicant needs to be an industry sales leader in tailor-made luxury and experiential travel Duties: Creating sales revenue from new and existing customers and maximizing revenue generation. Forecasting business and market needs, formulating and implementing sales strategies, and achieving sales targets Sales methodology and managing the sales process including sales process planning, negotiation, and closing. Understanding market requirements, product capabilities and future industry developments and trends; Working with marketing, sales support, and other key divisions within the company. Development of the Africa sales team, including sourcing, interviewing, hiring and managing sales and travel specialists Constantly motivate the sales team to hit their targets and ensure company profitability Dealing with disciplinary matters and customer complaints Working with the product and marketing division to ensure company profitability Sales training and continual development of the sales team Formulating and implementing sales strategies Achieving sales targets Ensuring high customer satisfaction Define commercial models and projections, promote and market the business, manage budget and maintain statistical and financial records Skill in managing remote employees, understanding how to maximize performance in a flexible work environment, maximizing team outputs, and creating and meeting targets are imperative to this position.
