Position: Production Manager - Germiston Location: Germiston Duration: Permanent Standard hours: 07h30 – 17h00 Monday to Thursday, 07h30 – 16h00 on Friday Will be required to work overtime as per operational requirements Start Date: ASAP Type of Business: Metal Recycling Remuneration: R 25 000 – 30 000 per month Benefits include: Provident fund Group Life Funeral cover 15 working days leave per annum Main Functions: The Manager’s primary function is to manage employees and various operations within the Production Division. The tasks of the Production Manager will include, but are not limited to: Daily planning of department needs with the Divisional Director. Stock taking - Planning and expediting. Disciplinary action and daily management of staff. Ensure that deadlines and targets are met as per operational requirements. Plan processing of material for particular requirements within respective department. Ensures that tasks are delegated to the different staff members within the department. Ensure that employees are properly trained and licensed for the machinery/equipment that they operate. Ensure resources are used effectively so that maximum productivity is achieved. Constant checking and controlling quality of material. Plan services and maintenance of machines. Ensure that Health and Safety regulations are followed. Requirements: Previous experience in a managerial or supervisory position. A minimum of between 2 – 5 years’ experience in a production industry IN THE METAL INDUSTRY. Computer literate - full Microsoft suite. Valid Code 08 license. Knowledge of maintenance planning. Knowledge of production planning and goal setting. Good knowledge of H&S regulations. Supervisory, organisational, communication, customer relations and planning skills. Flexible and willing to work overtime. Ability to write reports and procedure manuals.
