Location: Bahrain, Saudi Arabia Duration: Permanent Start Date: Immediate Type of Business: Fitness Remuneration: BD 2,500/- to BD 3,000/- (All inclusive) based on experience and management skills Purpose of the role: The General Manager will ensure the development and profitability of the fitness business by overseeing the various departments which include operations, sales, marketing, HR (hiring, training, appraising), business development (identifying locations, overseeing construction), and finance. The Company is a franchisee of a leading fitness brand, in the markets of Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Kuwait and Oman. The Company plans to open, own, and operate a large number of gyms over the coming years and requires an experienced industry professional to manage the company during this growth phase.The candidate will be based in Bahrain, but will be expected to travel frequently around the Gulf (for at least 2 weeks of every month). Main Functions: Directly report to the Responsible Director who will closely monitor business operations’ performance and provide strategic guidance as necessary. The sales, marketing, operations and finance responsibilities will fall under the supervision of this position. External counterparts and staff within immediate organization and assigned project areas. Providing leadership and vision to the organization by assisting the company board with the development of short and long term plans, as well as annual plans, and submitting projections to the company board with the purpose of managing and growing the business in the GCC region. Providing recommendations regarding effective utilization of long and short term debt, including refinancing and purchasing and/or sales. Operational and strategic responsibility for our fitness company. Management of Profit & Loss for all gyms and review variances to plan with line managers. Review revenue targets and identify growth opportunities. Quantifying revenue stream, operating costs and estimated profits. Developing and implementing standard operating procedures and policies for all of the gyms. Meeting marketing and sales financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget for all the locations; scheduling expenditures; analysing variances; initiating corrective actions. Developing and implementing effective marketing, promotional and national advertising plans. Leading marketing strategies to corporate clients and individuals. Requirements: English (a must), Arabic (preferable) Bachelor’s degree at a minimum, ideally with the post graduate qualification in business administration. Preferred candidate with Advance Management Studies in Sales & Marketing Minimum of 15 years of relevant industry experience. Experience in the GCC market strongly preferred. Ability to interpret and assist with the preparation of financial reports; capable to interact and collaborate with internal and external auditors. Strong operations focus Ability to work under pressure and to meet aggressive expansion targets Knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements in the organization. Excellent time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills. Excellent verbal and written communications and presentation skills appropriate for direct interaction with international customers. Good computer / presentation skills in MS Office applications. Ideal age: early 40’s We are looking to hire a Western / South African / British national who has gym experience running multiple unit franchised gyms + GCC experience on the same industry is mandatory.
