Job Description

Planner (Mine Planning)
 
In the Northern Cape area
 
Position Purpose:

  • The incumbent will be responsible to construct mine excavation layouts for short, medium and long term planning and control purposes in compliance with statutory and company requirements


Minimum Requirements:

  • Microstation, Mine CADD, Mine 2-4D, Studio 5, EPS and GEMCOM background (please indicate on CV)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Sound knowledge of mechanized mining methods
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Experience in mine planning, design and scheduling (please indicate on CV)
  • Intermediate level user of mining related drafting software
  • ·Mining related Degree or Diploma (advantageous)
  • Supervisory experience

 
Responsibilities:

  • Compile the project input to the strategic business plans for the mine
  • Interpret the mining operational plan and production results to develop a monthly operation plan
  • Liaise with other related disciplines to gather information necessary to fulfil duties
  • Mine design
  • Scheduling of Mine designs and LOM planning
  • Responsible for the planning/coordination/liaising of planning meeting at pre-determined frequency
  • Highlight deviations to the plan and identify opportunities to catch up or exceed the plan
  • Portray true reflection of mining operations and geological features on the plan
  • Monitor modifying factors through technical analysis
  • Perform duties of technical assurance
