R 993 000 – R 1 400 000 pa   

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Manage the Bursaries and Graduate Placement Projects
  • Coordinate the efforts of Project Managers, Project Coordinators and Third Party Contractors/Consultants
  • Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crisis and devise contingency plans
  • Analyse work required in projects and assign resources
  • Identify and resolve any project issues within the project teams
  • Provide advice on managing the deliverables of the various contracts relating to projects
  • Prepare and submit project reports to the Projects Board Committee
  • Define project success criteria and disseminate the criteria to the project teams throughout the project life cycle
  • Set and continually manage project expectations with project teams
  • Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors and influence them to take accountability
  • Plan, organize and chair team meeting
  • Align the performance of the Unit to the overall strategic objectives of the company
  • Develop and implement effective information systems which support strategic decision-making
  • Provide strategic leadership on Risk Management within the Unit
  • Manage strategic relationships and reporting
  • Build, develop and grow any business relationship to the success of the projects
  • Build, maintain and strengthen strategic partnerships with relevant organizations and institutions, including other SETAs
  • Represent the SETA at forums
  • Develop policies and operating procedures for Bursaries and Graduate Placement
  • Implement sound financial management in line with the PFMA, and any other applicable government policies
  • Ensure the Unit’s compliance with both the internal and external audits
  • Lead good corporate governance within the Unit
  • Develop and implement policies and prepare programmes, processes and procedures
  • Provide management to the Unit
  • Build and maintain an effective team within the Unit
  • Implement the best performance management practices, coaching and mentorship methods
  • Lead the Unit to achieve set goals and targets within set timeframes
  • Create and maintain a culture of performance and efficiency

  • Understanding and knowledge of corporate governance principles and legislation including but not limited to Companies Act and King III Report
  • Knowledge and understanding of the applicable legislative statutes and regulations in a SETA environment
  • Advanced negotiation skills
  • Diplomacy

 

Minimum Requirements

 

  • Postgraduate degree in Humanities / Commerce
  • Bachelor’s degree in Humanities / Commerce
  • An NQF qualification in Project Management
  • Matric
  • 5 years’ experience in a project management environment
  • 3 years’ experience in a management role within a Public Sector environment
  • Understanding of the Wholesale and Retail Sector
