Job Description

I am looking for two wedding and function co-ordinators.  

The one is to start as soon as possible, the other would be required from the beginning of January but would need them to spend a few days with us during December to do handovers.



I am looking for a very very hard worker, creative, strong strong sales person who is a good team player, with business savvy. 

The job        

  • To grow the weddings and functions sales exponentially 
  • To understand and have a successful experience with the sales cycle.  This experience and ability is the deal breaker and therefore we must get someone with a proven sales track record
    • To do quotes in response to enquiries
    • To convert leads for weddings and functions to ensure she contributes significantly to this department meeting budget targets
    • To at times pro-actively call clients to get new business particularly for function
    • To build relationships with her brides and function clients through the sales and planning process providing the relevant support and guidance and managing their expectations
    • To be an active listener and to use what they have learned and  translate this into a sale, a wedding or function beyond the dream of the client
    • To take charge of wedding exhibitions and bridal open days, corporate or matric dance open days to ensure all is well done and qualified leads are obtained for follow up
  • To ensure that every detail of a function or wedding is planned planned for, organized, communicated directly and clearly to the relevant operations team members and support staff to ensure the weddings and functions are run professionally, slickly and to plan
  • To exceed client expectations on every level
  • To be present on the day of the event from the early hours of the day to the end of mains to ensure everything runs smoothly 
  • To schedule and run all the planning meetings with the clients and call report the most critical issues
  • Ensures contracts are signed and bookings paid for, all paperwork implemented meticulously and timeously

The successful candidate will be

  • Someone who ideally has  at least 3 years experience as a wedding and functions co-ordinator on a busy property
  • Strong sales ability with proven track record
  • Vivacious outgoing personality
  • Very organised and detail oriented
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • Must be 100% dedicated to doing a brilliant job and NOT A CLOCK WATCHER
  • People skills are essential with an ability to stay calm when clients are not 100% honest
  • Takes pride in providing outstanding service
  •  Looks the part – professional, friendly, appropriately dressed and must be fit– this property is large and co-ordinators can be running between functions from one end of the property to the other
  • Speaks and writes a fluent English.  Afrikaans and Zulu an advantage
  • Someone with a bit of creativity is an advantage
  • Meticulous administration skills
