Job Description

Wedding Coordinator for a beautiful property situtated in the Midrand area.

The job        

  • To lead a wedding and functions department to be outstanding sales people, build relationships, creative in the solutions they offer their clients, to have an excellent sense of style and creativity
  • To take charge of wedding exhibitions and bridal open days, corporate or matric dance open days
  • To do quotes in response to enquiries and to set an exampe of outstanding closure rates
  • To convert leads for weddings and functions to ensure she contributes significantly to this department meeting budgets
  • To at times pro-actively call clients to get new business particularly for function
  • To build relationships with her brides and function clients through the planning process providing the relevant support and guidance and managing their expectations
  • To be an active listener and to use what you learn and  translate this into a sale, a wedding or function beyond the dream of the client
  • To ensure that everything is planned and organized and communicated clearly and clearly understood by the relevant operations team members and support staff to ensure the weddings and functions happen professionally, slickly and without forgetting anything
  • To be present on the day of the event to ensure everything runs smoothly
  • To schedule and run all the planning meetings with the clients and call report the most critical issues
  • Ensures contracts are signed and bookings paid for, all paperwork implemented meticulously and timeously

The successful candidate will be

  • Someone who ideally has  a degree or diploma in wedding/events, hospitality
  • Several years experience as a wedding, function or banqueting co-ordinator is a must
  • Strong sales ability – converts leads at an excellent ratio
  • Great personality
  • Very organised and detail oriented
  • Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
  • To be 100% dedicated to doing a brilliant job and IS NOT A CLOCK WATCHER
  • People skills
  • 100% honest
  • Takes pride in providing outstanding service
  • Looks the part – professional, friendly, appropriately dressed
  • Speaks and writes a good English
  • Someone with a bit of creativity is an advantage
  • Meticulous administration skills
