Our client, one of SA's leading transport companies, is looking for someone to join their busy transport department. This would be a superb opportunity to develop a career within the transport industry.
The successful candidate will be assisting the management team in a hands on administrative role that ensures Compliance, Customer Service Responsibilities and Company Policies are all met in full. The candidate must be able to work within a team, able to multi task and willing to learn new tasks.
This job would suit a young graduate with a desire to progress into a transport manager role, full training will be given together with study support to gain a professional qualification after a qualifying period.
Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm, 2 Saturdays per month 8am - 12 pm.
Assisting Operations Manager with daily operations,
Distributing jobs to drivers,
Monitoring Driver performance and report to the line manager any breakdowns and low performances,
Ensuring drivers are working within legal guidelines of driving times and traffic regulations,
Debriefing Drivers and handling daily paperwork from drivers, log books etc.
Filing documents and paperwork,
Customer liaisons, doing quotes,taking orders and invoicing,
Inputting information/data on to the company computer system,
Any adhoc related work as assigned by management,
Required skills / attributes :
Strong communications skills ,
Strong Administrative skills,
Strong mathematical skills,
Computer literate , familiar with Word, Excel and outlook,
Accurate with attention to detail,
Keen interest in the transport and operations functions within the logistics industry
