Job Description

To manage and control these Key Outputs:

1. Customer (Student / Parent / Sponsor) Management
• Student recruitment
• Management of drop-out rate
• Management of throughput rate
• Parent / sponsor interventions
• Innovative student activities

2. Staff Management
• Staff development
• Employment equity
• Staff retention
• Staff morale
• Performance management
• Communication
• Team emphasis (support and guidance)
• Strong leadership

3. Academic Programme Management
• Staff competence (appropriate appointments)
• Control of the examination process in line with the school’s policies and procedures
• Innovation to maintain a leading edge within the education sphere
• Ensure adherence to all academic policies and procedures

4. Infrastructure Management
• Classrooms, practical and demonstration kitchens, computer laboratory, resource centre, student lounge, offices, public areas
• External areas
• Student residence (if applicable)

5. Financial Management
• Preparation of the campus Budget and Forecasts
• Debt management
• Financial reporting
• Control of campus procurement, including Petty Cash expenditure
• Meeting deadlines
• Accountability for financial performance of business unit

6. Sales & Marketing
• Sales Management of Consultants
• Student Recruitment
• Effective roll out of Sales & Marketing Plan
• Sales Presentations to prospective customers
• Accountability for Sales Targets/Budgets


The Managing Executive is responsible for the expansion of their business unit (campus) whilst maintaining the academic integrity of the school.

Essential Requirements:

• A relevant tertiary qualification with a minimum of a degree;
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a senior management position, preferably within the education/hospitality sector;
• Financial acumen;
• An appreciation of the hospitality and food service industries;
• Ability to procure new business opportunities;
• Strong sales and marketing skills;
• Good presentation skills;
• A self-motivated individual with initiative;
• Strong Leadership skills;
• Entrepreneurial abilities;
• Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure;
• Ability to plan to avoid last minute pressure situations;
• A high degree of integrity;
• Proven track record and recent, contactable references;
• Competence in MS Office suite
- Must have own reliable vehicle, and a valid drivers licence.
