Mining Engineer, Underground (Central America). Our client with its operations in Central America is looking for a young and dynamic mining engineer to form part of their mining optimization team. The position involves evaluating current standard practices at the operations as part of a team of professionals to investigate and implement methods to improve productivity, costs and safety on the mine.  It would also involve a degree of mine planning as part of the team to optimize production.  ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS: Mining Engineering Degree or Equivalent. Experience in an underground trackless mining production environment Ability to communicate in Spanish Previous experience in mine planning, mining optimization and advising and assisting the mining production and engineering teams Hands on experience and taking this attribute into the new role Ability to work well within a team of professionals in order to achieve the objectives set out to increase production, trackless equipment availability and turnaround time as well as costs and safety. General Manager Mining, Underground, Spanish speaking (Central America).  Our client with their operations based in Central America is in an urgent need for a Spanish speaking General Manager Mining in a permanent role to head up the mining department which includes shaft, geology, survey and operations in a trackless environment.  It’s a zinc mine producing 2000tpd (plus 1000tpd development waste) and to take it up to 3000tpd in the next 18 months.   Start date:  Urgent. Package negotiable.   ESSENTIAL:  Must be able to speak Spanish. Underground trackless mining experience. Mine dewatering experience  REQUIREMENTS: This role requires a Bsc Mining Degree or equivalent with at least 10 years operational exposure to Mining with at least 5 years Production Management experience in Underground mining. Extensive underground mining experience in a trackless mining environment Proven experience to manage and direct the operations with regards to Shafts, Geology Survey, Ventilation, Rock Mechanics and technical services. Proven experience in mine dewatering. A proven production and safety track record Needs to have the ability to operate in a culturally sensitive environment and train and guide local employees. Develop and implement a mine plan and budget with clear plan and line functions for operation improvement targets; Direct and manage the activities of the mine operation and plant with overall responsibility and accountability for short term planning, implementation and maintenance of cost controls, communications, productivity and quality; Provide monthly reports of the operation including environmental, safety, mining production, plant production and cost information; Ensure mine safety and health and environmental compliance. Schoolteacher - Honduras, Central America Our client, a small private international school based in Honduras, Central America would like to review applications for the position of a teacher with international experience.  The school has 40-50 learners on primary and secondary level and employs 6 full time teachers.  The brief of the incumbent would be to implement a Canadian or similar education curriculum at the school and improve the quality of education provided to the learners. The opportunity would be open for the successful candidate to become the Headmaster/School Principal.  QUALIFICATIONS AND TRAINING: English speaking and good understanding of Spanish. Qualified teacher status (as recognised by a relevant Department for Education). Successful completion of significant additional study relating directly to the education of primary and secondary aged pupils and/or the management and organisation of a school. Participation in recent, relevant in-service training. Specific Knowledge of the Canadian (or similar) schooling system/curriculum Passionate about education and people development – a commitment to delivering an outstanding holistic education to all students. Ability to inspire and unite students, staff and parents through being an involved and visible presence on campus. Excellent verbal and written communications skills. Understanding of school enrolment strategies and the relationship with an organisational and international business model. Experience of managing school budgets and financial management. Ability to deal with constant change. Proven commitment to safeguarding of children and staff. Some experience of working in an organisation of schools.
