Position: Human Resources Practitioner Location: Elandsfontein, Johannesburg Duration: Permanent Start Date: ASAP Type of Business: Metals Remuneration: Salary: Basic R24000 – Company contributions/Benefits over and above Basic. Benefits include: Provident fund Group life Hospital plan – Discovery Health Funeral cover 15 working days leave per annum Standard hours 07:00 – 16:30 Monday – Thursday 07:00 – 14:00 Friday May be required to work overtime as per operational requirements Purpose of the Job: Our client is a large privately-owned metal recycling company with its headquarters in Cape Town and operations in the Western Cape and Gauteng. The Group has an HR Practitioner position available for an educated, committed, hardworking, analytical and target- driven individual. As an HR Practitioner the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accuracy and efficiency of all HR related matters. The successful applicant will dually report to the Head of Human Capital and the Human Resources Manager in Johannesburg. Main Functions: Recruitment: Advertise staff vacancies, assess applications, interview applicants, give selection tests, prepare reports and make recommendations to management about staff appointments Personnel Administration: Maintain the personal records of employees on matters such as wages, leave and training, and prepare associated management reports. Arrange staff training: Liaise with the Training and Development department for all staff training needs. Organisational Development: Use management information systems to record, maintain, plan and manage the organisation's human resources. Provide advice and information: Advice management and employees on personnel policies and procedures, including equal opportunity, anti-discrimination and occupational health and safety programs. Advise Management and Employees on personnel policies, career development and any HR related issues like Employee Assistance Programmes. Performance Management: Guide management and staff on the optimal application and implementation of the performance management process. Change Management Agent: Assist in effecting organisational changes (e.g. those following from industrial relations legislation, revised job classification structures or technological changes). Industrial Relations: Manage internal and external disciplinary and rehabilitation processes. Requirements: Diploma/Degree in Human Resource Management 5-8 years’ experience in the Human Resources Field. Excellent planning, organisational, analytical and decision-making skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills on all levels. Confidentiality, tact and discretion essential when dealing with people. Computer Literacy viz. Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent Professional and interpersonal Skills. Ability to work within a team and independently. Ability to multi-task and manage demanding workload in a pressurised environment. Excellent problem solving skills coupled with the ability to think on your feet. Ability to meet deadlines and deliver results.
